Selection
Each spring, 30 rising sophomores (current freshmen who will be sophomores next semester) will be selected for membership in the Presidential Leadership Academy. Students admitted into the Academy will be drawn from across the University.
Selection will be based on a student's academic achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to critical thinking exhibited during the applicant's first year at Penn State. A select group of applicants will be contacted for personal interviews with the Academy selection committee.
Nomination
Penn State faculty and staff may nominate students for membership in the Academy. Nomination is not required for students to apply. Nominations count as an applicant's academic reference.
Application
Deadline for applications was Monday, February 25, 2013.
How to Apply
Deadline for nominations was Friday, February 15, 2013.
Information Sessions
Information sessions are held in November/December each year.
